To begin with a new topic today, let us play a game which is known as “Family Feud Style Game”. Are you familiar with that game?


I will divide you into two groups and you need to choose four representatives in your group and stand here in front. I have questions for you to be answered. If you know the answer just raise your flag. The group who raise the flag first will have the chance to answer the question. If one of the members answered it wrong, then other team would be given the chance to steal the point. Are my instructions clear class?

1.       What time do most people eat?
2.       What time do you usually wake up in the morning?
3.       When is your birthday?
4.       What are those days in the week that you usually go to school?
5.       When do we usually buy cakes?

Indeed. They are called prepositions and that is our new topic today. Before digging deeper to our discussion let us first be acquainted with our lesson objectives.

              Class, we have different types of preposition, but today we will talk about preposition of time. There are three prepositions we usually use to designate time.

Prepositions are word that show spatial (space), temporal (time), or logical relationship or association of an object to the rest of the sentence.









1.       AT -we use at to designate times.

Examples:

The train is due at 12:15 p.m.
Aliza came to school at 3 O’clock.



2.       ON- we use on to designate days and dates.

Examples:

My brother is coming on Monday.
We’re having a party on the 4th of July.



3.       IN – we use in for non-specific times during a day, a month or a year.

Examples:

She likes to jog in the morning.
He started the job in 2015.
